Diagonal and transition magnetic moments of negative parity heavy baryons in QCD sum rules

    Get PDF
Diagonal and transition magnetic moments of the negative parity, spin-1/2 heavy baryons are studied in framework of the light cone QCD sum rules. By constructing the sum rules for different Lorentz structures, the unwanted contributions coming from negative (positive) to positive (negative) parity transitions are removed. It is obtained that the magnetic moments of all baryons, except Λb0\Lambda_b^0, Σc+\Sigma_c^+ and Ξc+\Xi_c^{\prime +}, are quite large. It is also found that the transition magnetic moments between neutral negative parity heavy ΞQ0\Xi_Q^{\prime 0} and ΞQ0\Xi_Q^0 baryons are very small. Magnetic moments of the ΣQΛQ\Sigma_Q \to \Lambda_Q and ΞQ±ΞQ± \Xi_Q^{\prime \pm} \to \Xi_Q^\pm transitions are quite large and can be measured in further experiments.Comment: 31 pages, 4 figures, LaTeX formatted. arXiv admin note: substantial text overlap with arXiv:1504.00172, arXiv:1504.0818

The asymptotic iteration method for the angular spheroidal eigenvalues with arbitrary complex size parameter c

The asymptotic iteration method is applied, to calculate the angular spheroidal eigenvalues λm(c)\lambda^{m}_{\ell}(c) with arbitrary complex size parameter cc. It is shown that, the obtained numerical results of λm(c)\lambda^{m}_{\ell}(c) are all in excellent agreement with the available published data over the full range of parameter values \ell, mm, and cc. Some representative values of λm(c)\lambda^{m}_{\ell}(c) for large real cc are also given.Comment: 15 pages, 1 figur

Exact solutions for vibrational levels of the Morse potential via the asymptotic iteration method

    Get PDF
Exact solutions for vibrational levels of diatomic molecules via the Morse potential are obtained by means of the asymptotic iteration method. It is shown that, the numerical results for the energy eigenvalues of 7Li2^{7}Li_{2} are all in excellent agreement with the ones obtained before. Without any loss of generality, other states and molecules could be treated in a similar way

N(1535)NN^*(1535) \rightarrow N transition form-factors due to the axial current

The form-factors for the transition N(1535)N N^*(1535)\to N induced by isovector and isoscalar axial currents within the framework of light-cone QCD sum rules by using the most general form of the interpolating current are calculated. In numerical calculations, we use two sets of values of input parameters. It is observed that the Q2 Q^2 dependence of the form-factor GA G_A can be described by the dipole form. Moreover, the form-factors GP(S) G_P^{(S)} are found to be highly sensitive to the variations in the auxiliary parameter β \beta

VERSATILE CATALYTIC TRANSFER HYDROGENATIONS IN ORGANIC SYNTHESIS

Catalytic transfer hydrogenation reactions are extremely useful in organic synthesis. We have investigated numerous reactions with ammonium formate (and other hydrogen gas donor) and 10% Pd/C successfully without using hydrogen gas. The reactions are very fast and produced products with high yields. Reduction of unsaturated groups, hydrogenolysis, reductive bond cleavage, allylic deacetoxylation, and dehalogenation are conducted using this method. In some instances, useful selectivity of reactions is observed. Most of the reactions are investigated with β-lactams as the substrates
